Reiki:
A Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes
healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows
through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is
low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are
more capable of being happy and healthy.
Swedish Massage:
The Swedish massage is one of the most common massage. This type of
massage is intended mainly to reduce stress, relax the body, and ease
muscle aches.
Deep Tissue Massage:
Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper
layers of muscle tissue. When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and
nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue.
A deep tissue massage helps loosen muscle tissues, release toxins from
muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly. The purpose is to
"unstick" the fibers of a muscle while releasing deeply held patterns of
tension, removing toxins, while relaxing and soothing the muscle.
Chair Massage:
On-site chair massage focuses on key areas of the back, neck, shoulders,
head, and arms. This massage takes place in a quiet room with clothing still
on and sessions last for about 10-20 minutes. Research has shown that a
15 minute chair massage can reduce stress, increase productivity in the
workforce, and reduces absenteeism.
Stretching:
It is important to maintain flexibility as we age. I stretch the lower back by
moving the legs from side to side and across the body. This helps in lower
back pain as well as posture and flexibility.
Craniosacral Therapy
This technique was developed by Dr. John Upledger in Florida over 30 years
ago. It is a technique using only 5 grams of pressure or the weight of a
nickel. Craniosacral therapy works on freeing the central nervous system
from pain. Craniosacral system extends from the skull down to the tailbone.
How this works is that the craniosacral therapy releases the tensions and
allow the entire body to relax and self-correct. There have been great results
using this technique.
Outcalls:
Table massage available in the privacy of your own home. The advantage of
having a massage at your place is that you can crawl into bed right after a
deep, relaxing massage.
